William Stankay works as a film composer & sound designer for the film, theater and new media industries through his company Sunfall Records. His scores utilize innovative sound design and custom instrumentation to shape the sonic landscapes in his music.
Sunfall provides original scores centered around a process of customization for each and every client, giving your project the attention it deserves. We utilize a combination of live instrumentation and innovative sound architecture from our custom studio facilities. Notable projects include a collaboration with Powerade and the Wieden and Kennedy agency for their commercial campaign starring NBA player Damian Lillard, which began it's run during the March Madness NCAA basketball tournament. He has created original trailer music for the Lionsgate film "Deepwater Horizon", directed by Peter Berg (Lone Survivor) and starring Mark Wahlberg, Kate Hudson and Kurt Russell; additional music in collaboration with Jongnic Bontemps on the original Lifetime movie "Faith Under Fire", starring Toni Braxton; an original film score for Jared Passante's "Pass Me By" (NFFTY 2015 Audience Award winner); original sound design for composer Jongnic Bontemps score for "The Land", a film directed by Steven Caple Jr. and acquired by IFC Films; original scores for adventure filmmaker Danny Strasser; a feature film score for Joseph Varhola's "A Fancy Piece of Homicide" (starring Bingo O' Malley & Mark Tierno) and an original score/soundtrack album for "Samantha Moonley's Greatest Feeling", directed by Garrett Kennell and David Light.
His recent scoring work includes a collaboration with Vice for their "Designing A Plastic-Free World" branded content piece for Adidas. Stankay created an original ocean-themed score for the spot using 90% Earth-sound and natural instrumentation, including sounds from the Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic Ocean.
